How to Cancel YouTube Premium (2026) — All Billing Routes

- Open youtube.com/paid_memberships while signed in to the right account.
- Select Manage membership, then Deactivate.

- If you subscribed inside the YouTube iPhone app, Apple bills you and Google cannot cancel it.
- Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Tap YouTube Premium, then Cancel Subscription.
- Google Play usually bills this on Android.
- Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions.

Does cancelling also end YouTube Music?
Yes. YouTube Music Premium is included in YouTube Premium, so both end together. Your playlists and library stay on the account but revert to the free, ad-supported experience.
What happens to my downloads?
Downloaded videos and songs stop playing offline when the membership ends and are removed from the device.
Can I pause instead of cancelling?
Yes, and for a lot of people it is the better answer. You pick a length between one and six months, billing stops, and the membership resumes by itself afterwards. Two conditions: the pause starts at the end of the cycle you are already paying for, not immediately, and annual plans cannot be paused at all.
Do I get a refund?
Not normally for a partial month. You keep Premium until the end of the paid period instead.
