Cancel Netflix

How to Cancel Netflix (2026) — Web, iPhone and Android

Netflix has no cancellation fee and no minimum term. You keep watching until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account simply stops billing.

The fastest route is the direct cancel page below. Everything after it covers the cases where that link does not work — mainly if you are billed through Apple, Google or your TV provider rather than by Netflix directly.

Cancelling on day 2 costs exactly the same as cancelling on day 28 — Netflix never refunds a partial month, so there is nothing to gain by waiting.

Cancel Netflix step by step

Web In a browser
  1. Open netflix.com/cancelplan and sign in if asked.
  2. Select Finish Cancellation.
  3. Check for the confirmation email. If it does not arrive, the cancellation did not go through.
iPhone If Apple bills you
  1. If you signed up inside the Netflix iPhone app, Apple bills you, not Netflix.
  2. Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Netflix, then Cancel Subscription.
Android If Google bills you
  1. If you signed up through Google Play, cancel there rather than on netflix.com.
  2. Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions.
  3. Tap Subscriptions, choose Netflix, then Cancel subscription.

Common questions

Do I get a refund for the rest of the month?

As a rule no. Netflix does not refund partial months, so cancelling on day 2 costs the same as cancelling on day 28 — you keep access to the end of the period either way, and there is no reason to delay once you have decided. If you are in the EU and it is less than 14 days since you signed up, you have more leverage than that: since a July 2026 EU Court of Justice ruling, streaming counts as a digital service, so starting to watch no longer waives your cooling-off right. You can withdraw within 14 days, pay only for the portion you actually used, and get the rest back. It is recent, so expect to have to name the right of withdrawal when you ask.

When does my access actually stop?

At the end of the billing period you have already paid for, not immediately. The cancellation screen shows the exact date, and that date is also in the confirmation email.

Will I lose my profiles and watch history?

Not straight away. Netflix keeps your profiles, viewing history and recommendations for about 10 months after cancellation, so restarting inside that window picks up where you left off. After that Netflix no longer guarantees they are kept, and you can ask for erasure sooner by emailing [email protected].

Why can I not find a Cancel button?

Almost always because somebody else bills you — Apple, Google, or a TV, broadband or mobile provider who bundled Netflix into your package. The Membership section of your account page names whoever it is.

How do I know the cancellation worked?

You get a confirmation email, and your account page changes to show an end date instead of a next billing date. If neither happened, it did not go through.

Will I be charged again after cancelling?

No, provided the cancellation completed. If a charge appears after your stated end date, it is usually because a second membership exists via Apple or Google that was never cancelled.

Can I cancel during a free trial and keep it to the end?

Yes. Cancelling a trial does not cut it short — you keep access until the trial's last day and are simply not charged afterwards.

What happens to my downloads?

Downloaded titles stop playing when the membership ends. They are licence-locked to an active account, so there is no way to keep them offline afterwards.

Does cancelling delete my account?

No. Cancelling stops the billing; the account itself stays until Netflix's 10-month clean-up. To remove it sooner you have to request deletion separately.

Can I restart later on the same email?

Yes, and within 10 months you keep everything. Restarting starts a fresh billing cycle from that day at whatever the current price is, which may be higher than you were paying.

You found this one. The problem is the ones you would not think to search for.

Netflix is the easy case — it is expensive enough to notice and you know whether you watched anything. Nobody googles how to cancel the thing they forgot they were paying for, because they have forgotten it. That is the whole difficulty.

Subzy is a list of what leaves your account and when. You add what you pay for, it warns you a few days before each charge, and it shows one total instead of a dozen small ones. Free for five subscriptions, and it never asks for a bank login because it does not use one.
